ProAm driver Meliton Villamor held the first of what seems to be many "SLYDE or DIE" drift events on Labor Day at Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley, California. The intentions of this event is to allow the general public (fans or aspiring drivers) to come hang out with ProAm drivers in a non-competitive environment to check out each other's cars, get ride-alongs, network, etc. all within a tight and "good vibes" environment. Essentially, this is another example that grassroots drifting is alive and well in Southern California.Read More
It's been a while since I ventured out to Willow Springs International Raceway to catch JustDrift's TopDrift ProAm series. Mainly because of the unwillingness to put myself in 100°F+ weather paired with 20mph gusts, but the experience each time is an enjoyable one.Read More
Ambient temperatures were forgiving last weekend but that good ol' Antelope Valley wind kept roaring through as usual at Just Drift's ## annual All Star Bash. This year the drive count was limited to just over 60 cars (as opposed to 100+ in the years past) to maximize track time. The consequences of that meant no team tandem as too few of drivers signed up. However, that just meant the track was completely open to all drivers from 9am to 5pm both Saturday and Sunday.Read More

Formula Drift held their season opener yesterday on the Grand Prix circuit of The Streets of Long Beach. This marks their thirteenth year as a series and their eleventh year on the Long Beach street course. Much like Friday's "qualifying", a light drizzle coated the track for Saturday's Top 32 tandem competition.Read More
For the first time in the last six years of Formula Drift's first round at The Streets of Long Beach it has rained. Qualifying was called off and Saturday's Top 32 bracket will be determined based on the season points from 2015.
Tomorrow is Top 32 and rain is expected as well...Read More
The 2015 Formula Drift season is in the books, and the best way to finish the year is with one of the largest drift events on the West Coast. All Star Bash 2015 brought people from all over the world to meet up in the desert at Willow Springs International Raceway for two days of driving and partying.
Street Driven Tour and Stance Wars had their final stop in Las Vegas this weekend. A bash style drift event combined with mini games, a car show, and 100° degree partly cloudy skies describes the events taking place that Saturday afternoon.Read More
Formula Drift sanctioned ProAm event Top Drift had it's fourth and final round inside the paved oval of Willow Springs International Raceway. The top 5 drivers of the series were within a few points from one another, so this round anything could happen. The top three finishers of the series would receive their Formula Drift Pro2 licenses. Going into this round had Trenton Beechum in 1st, Adam Knapik in 2nd, and Joe Tardiff in 3rd with Kenny Cheiu 7 points behind in fourth.Read More
Having missed out on Formula Drift in Seattle and there being a drifting dry spell until Texas in September, I decided to head down to Irwindale Speedway to catch some drifting. Irwindale is allegedly closing soon, so as the months have progressed, I've noticed more and more drivers coming out to drift the track before it's forever gone.Read More
After many, many sleepless nights trying to get the car in working order, Andy Hateley and his crew were handed every ounce of bad luck trying to get to Seattle for Formula Drift Pro2 competition this weekend.Read More
I was invited over to Hateley Motorsports by Andy Hateley to check out his shop while the car was being rebuilt for Formula Drift Seattle in 2 weeks. Andy's crew chief Kurtis (someone I met in Atlanta a few months back) flew down for a week to help out getting his car all ready for competition. While they wrenched, I took pictures and made small talk.Read More
I was invited by Ernie, or as the Internet calls him "Fred Lump Lump", to Extreme Auto Fest out at Angel's Stadium in Anaheim to check out a massive car show including exhibitions in drifting, stunt bikes, and lowriders. While I didn't traverse the car show with my camera, I spent the majority of the day under the sun at the skidpad photographing the exhibitions.Read More
These photos are dated to all hell due to Round 3 happening just last weekend, but they are just sitting and collecting digital dust. So here I will elaborate my experiences of The South, and what followed at the famous Brassleton racetrack "Road Atlanta."
I went to Irwindale Speedway to hang out with the local drift scene for the monthly hosted Thursday Night Drift!Read More
